I have been on this journey for quite some time, I joined Spark about 3-4 years ago and have played around with it ever since. Everytime I felt crappy I got back on the Spark wagon and then when I started to feel good....bah bye Spark who needs ya!!!!
Hahaha, I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about....its usually the same story with a lot of us.
Well my mom passed away in April and of course for the 4 months she was sick my weight started to creep back up....during this time my husband was wonderful, he was very supportive, helping me and did not bat an eye when I moved my mom in with us....needless to say he was more than happy to indulge all of mine and my mothers food cravings (my husband is 5'6", 220 lbs. (according to the BMI-obese).
A couple of weeks ago he had blood tests taken, he informed me that everything was ok, he was still borderline diabetic (to this day I have no idea what that means) but that there is nothing at all to worry about......(hmmmmmm, yeah ok!!!)
July 4th weekend, he had 2 episodes of lightheadedness, sweats and feeling faint. I made sure that he called his doctor on Tuesday, she immediately set up an appointment with a heart doctor.....YIKES!!!!!
Of course I went with him because when I looked at the paper with his blood test results everything was high, I mean literally every blood test that was taken was high, needless to say, I was FURIOUS!!!!!
Anyhow...last Friday we went to the heart doctor, they took an EKG and it looked fine, the doctor informed him that he was definitely a classic case of someone on their way to a heart attack and/or death (yes he was that blunt and I liked it!!) and he informed him he had to change his ways or I was going to be a widow.
Now prior to this I usually worked everything out for him whatever needed to be done (breakfast, lunch, dinner) I did and he just rode a long for the ride....well not this time, I realized HE needed to change HIS lifestlye and needed to get on board the HEALTHY TRAIN......
Guess what, he did it, I'm not getting too ahead of myself but so help me he did fantastic this week, he drives for UPS so with the heat he really didn't hit the gym (days are so hot, he's beat when he gets home). He surely changed his eating habits this week and when he got on the scale this morning it showed the results.......
HE LOST 10 pounds in 1 week, his sugar has been really good (still trying to figure out what spikes and what doesn't) and he is paying attention to what he is eating all by himself(as if he is a 3 year old) !!!!
I am soooooo proud of him, he is taking this one day at a time and it is truly working, that makes me such a proud wife!!!!!
Wooooohoooo to him, he is on board the HEALTHY TRAIN and its a ride we are both going to enjoy for many years to come!!!!!!!!
