Back in the saddle - almost....

Somehow catching up is hard when you are behind to start with. The laundry is done and put away and the truck is cleaned out and everything stowed, so we are in good shape.
The fridge is pretty empty - but I spent 2 weeks of food budget on vaca...so we are going to muddle through with what we have. It's a good thing I have a freezer full of food, and when in doubt, there is always pasta.....UGH.....but it will work...I can make it through Friday without going to the market.
Our vacation was very spur of the moment...something we hadn't planned due to baseball schedules, but with both kids finishing by 8/3, the time was available, and the inlaws and the brother-in-laws family were there - so why not - so I spent the 4th packing and away we went.
I decided that I needed to beat the hill that beat me last year....it is a killer. It is 1.5 miles long and uphill at a pretty good incline the HOLE way up. It comes very early in my 4.5 mile loop that I had planned, and I knew that I had a mile down to recover (interesting how one street is longer than the other)....so off I went......I DID IT. I beat that sucker. I was tired at the top, but the adreneline must have kicked in....I just kept going. It wasn't until I hit about the 3.75 mile mark that I started to get tired, so I kicked into 5/1 intervals for the remainder of the run.
The next day hubs and the boys were off to the driving range, so I ran to the range and met up with them. Smaller hill on this one - but a steeper incline at the 4 mile mark....it killed me - because I was tight from the day before....but I did it...another 4.5
Monday was golf day - so no run. I am not a good golfer by any stretch, but we had fun, and I didn't throw any clubs around - so that was good.
Tuesday was RAINY....so the boys, hubs and I headed to Corning to go to the Glass Museum.
Wednesday was a better day - so it was going to be hanging out at the lake swimming, so I did another 4.5 mile loop. You know me - never the same route. I chose a different route, but it had a hill...only 1 mile up this time, but steeper than the 1.5 mile one.......but I was feeling good - so it wasn't too bad. The best part of this run was that I saw a Doe with her Fawn. The fawn still had spots, and looked just like bambi. I stopped, and watched them for a minute or so until the spotted (or smelled) me....
Thursday was the last day I was going to have to run. The boys had all headed off fishing with one of hubs uncles, so I had time. I plotted out a 6.3 mile loop and off I went.....1 hour 4 minutes later....I was home...that's a 10:20 pace over those miles, including one killer hill with a HUGE headwind the whole way up.....I felt like superwoman. That was almost 6 minutes faster than my 10K in July...WHO HOO....
Friday was another day of golf. I hit them better than Monday - so all is good.
Saturday was the 7 hour drive home...UGH.
Today I decided to see if the hills did anything...so I went out for my 3 mile loop which I have not been able to get under 30 all Summer....today.....28:35....Y
AHOO!!!! The hills did something....however I'm sure it won't stick, because I don't have hills like this at home....I have mounds...not hills......
