Tuesday Musings.....

I'm slowly catching up - home seems to be in order, now to Spark. I have not been good about keeping up with my teams since I left for vacation. It was so sudden, that I didn't even post that I was going - so it just seems like I disappeared. Bad me.
With all of the running I have been doing, my brother has decided that I am running the Portsmouth Half Marathon with him. It is 14 weeks away, so I have plenty of time for proper training....so why not. I have to sign up by the end of the month for the cheap price....so here I go.
I'm very nervous, but have been living through two sparkfriends who are training for 1/2's this month and I have been very jealous - so no more green eyed monster.....I've got to do it now.
I found a training plan that has me running 5 days a week - I have used that and planned my course...I'm shooting for 4 days a week, and Tuesday is going to be long run day. I can't have long run day be on a weekend, due to the kids baseball/hockey schedules....so Tuesday it is......so to work my plan, I started with long run day - but it was an easy long run day because I am at the beginning of the plan.
I had a 4 mile run today - and it felt wonderful. There was no sun, and the temp was only 70', so it was heavenly. I had mapped my route before I left - but I didn't plan on one of the streets being closed for work --- so I ended up having to run through a cemetary to get through - CREEPY.....I haven't ever done that before.
I finished 4.2 miles is 43 minutes. I was pretty please with my 10:19 average pace. The best part was that I got all 4.2 done running. No walking today. Don't know if I can keep that up - I would like to get so I can do 6 without walking and then work in the Galloway intervals from there...we'll see.....
I also watched a cute movie today as I had the house all to myself. My boys were off with my parents doing their birthday shopping (a new tradition was started this year - they went shopping with the parents and got to pick their gifts, then they went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch)....they had a blast, it was fun for my parents. I wasn't jealous until I heard about the cheesecake....the rats didn't even bring me a piece.
The movie was "Life as We Know It" Kathering Heigel and Josh Duhamel were in it - very cute movie....liked it a lot.
