sore muscles

Thursday, August 18, 2011

I don't know what's more sore my arm, thigh, or calf muscles.
For 2 days now I've been hauling a 3 gallon sprayer around the outside of the house and other buildings and spraying insecticide.
That bugger weights between 25 and 30 lbs when full.
Reaching high in some spots and doing a lot of bending over, talk about a work out.
1hr one day and 45 min the next and both days totaled over 13,000 steps. Woo Hoo
Feels good to get work done and exercise at the same time, I'm just glad I don't have to do this again until Oct. LOL
Now to work on trimming, edging and weed pulling.

My canning is going well, I'm putting up the rest of the pears this weekend ( I hope)
I love canning fruits, though I'm very careful not to eat too much because of the sugar contents. They do make great Christmas gifts though.

Don't you hate having to spray so much down here in the south!? Ugh! Bugs, and more bugs! Up in Ohio sprayed once in awhile and hardly ever saw a bug in or near the house. Here it is like every other month and even that isn't enough in my opinion! That is some large can you have to do that spraying with-no wonder you are sore!!! And yard work in this heat is so hard to do! Stay cool and don't work too hard! emoticon

Wow! Congratulations on your good work. I have a 2 gallon sprayer and that is enough for me! Heavy! I only have to spray the roses and the trees and we have a very small piece of property so it only takes me about an hour and a half to do it all. When I am finished, I am pooped! I haven't sprayed insecticide for a while, so I probably should do this, too. Maybe when it cools down a little.
I don't can, I freeze. Have peaches, shredded zucchini, zucchini chunks that I use in smoothies, and tomatoes in the freezer right now. The garden is doing great and I love to have the food for the freezer.
    Enjoy your canning. emoticon

No wonder you're sore--that is some serious weight training you're doing there! Take care of yourself and rest those muscles a little, they earned a break!
