Dripping with Sweat
Saturday, August 20, 2011
Last night I opted to postpone my trip to the ocean with my husband a day. I will head up after I am done this blog. I wanted to get a long work out in before heading up to the boat.
My plan... Expresso Bike and AMT machine.
I hit the bike. I am going to do a challenging level on the expresso bike. If you have never used one it is a virtual bike. It has 30 speeds which you need to shift or you will stop dead in your tracks. Since the Sprint tri is 10 miles I choose a 10 mile trail. Huge Mountain to climb. :)
Now this picture of the girl riding this expresso bike makes me laugh because when I am climbing a huge mountain I am scrunched over my handle bars and sweating like there is no tomorrow. I am not riding to grandmothers house. Tonight I brought my clip shoes for the first time. I look like a geek, but I also use my bike shorts when I am on this bike because otherwise I am afraid that i will have to have the seat surgically removed from my butt when I am done.
While struggling up this huge hill the YMCA instructor Anya came over to chat with me. Sweat is dripping on me I have my towel to sop some of it up. I can speak with effort. I am working at level 9 for sure. The rest of my bike ride went smoothly. It ended with a down hill. I clean off my machine and excuse myself from chatty Anya so I can take my bike shoes off and switch to sneakers. While leaving the locker room I look in the mirror to see that not only the front of my shirt is covered in sweat 2/3 of my back is as well.
AMT. Adaptive Motion Trainer. If you read my blogs you have read about my work outs on them. It is by Precor.
Check this machine out at their site. I love this machine because i feel like I am running with no impact on my foot keeping me injury free. :) Anya came over to me again, but to tell me if I felt dizzy call 200 on the phone she was going to eat. At the YMCA at 8:30 pm. I was in my own private gym. Near the end of my work out 3 more people were in the gym, but I got a killer work out in.
Total calories burned from the hour and 20 minute complete work out 998. I went home to some ground turkey on top of my tossed salad. I felt great.
I know there are days that I go through the motions, but I love a work out where I feel like I am giving myself the gift of good health and a strong heart.
These are all my own words, but pictures are courtesy of google images
