Trying to get back on track

Friday, August 26, 2011

I've been so busy since the 14th of July when we took a long weekend for a mini-vacation. Upon my return I was traveling between 2-4 days a week for the next three weeks. Keeping my eating and calories in check was a challenge, even harder was to find time to exercise. I barely had time to get on Spark to track food, let alone check in with fellow Sparkers.

I had a week off where I was able to stay home but had no willpower to workout. At least I got my eating habits back in check somewhat. I'm loving all the great summer fruits and veggies. I got myself back to washing the fruit and putting a variety in storage bags to grab each morning for the day.

The next week was back to traveling, but only the usual day trips and an occasional overnight. One night I went to Target and found a new yoga dvd, which I needed since the one I have is a beginner and it is too basic even for me. So I gave it a try this week and didn't read the details on cover and realized I need yoga block and strap to properly do the workouts. But I got them and I'm really enjoying myself. It is really helping me get back into moving again. I can't believe how fast the time flies; it seems I just started and it's over.

This weekend I hope to get the weights out for some strength training. I've also signed up the the 'Fall virtual 5k', I needed a goal and team to help keep me motivated.

Enjoy your weekend!

Good on you....I had the same problem after taking a family vacation....it took me 3 weeks of procrastinating (and going up almost 5 lbs) to realize i had to get back on track.

Good on you for noticing....now keep it up!
