Reducing Empty Calories

It's that time again. I've been exercising regularly for a few weeks and now I need to cut the empty calories out of my diet. My husband and I are both in agreement that the best way to do that is to cut out alcohol. It should be a simple enough process but we both enjoy having a couple of drinks in the evening, especially sampling all the different types of beer there are out there. I'm afraid it's going to be harder than it seems, but he won't be here in the evenings part of this week so we both decided this is a good week to start. I'd like to see what happens if I continue the exercise and only cut out alcohol next week. After that, I'll check out my nutrition tracker and see what else I can change.
