WHEN TIMES ARE HARD!!!!!!

Friday, September 02, 2011

Our family has been having a hard time lately. We had to put my beautiful mother in a nursing home. It was such a hard thing to do, but it's a nice nursing home; and she seems happy there. She deserves all that is good; all that is beautiful. I miss my mom; the way she used to be; so independent, so energetic. I get through each day by reading this poem:

THIS TOO SHALL PASS

If I can endure for this minute
Whatever is happening to me,
No matter how heavy my heart is
Or how dark the moment may be----

If I can remain calm and quiet
With all the world crashing about me,
Secure in the knowledge God loves me
When everyone else seems to doubt me---

If I can but keep on believing
What I know in my heart to be true,
That darkness will fade with the morning
And that this will pass away, too---

Then nothing in life can defeat me
For as long as this knowledge remains
I can suffer whatever is happening
For I know God will break all the chains

That are binding me tight in the darkness
And trying to fill me with fear---
For there is no night without dawning
And I know that my morning is near!!!!

I am sure your mother will be fine, and you can also visit her if the nursing home is close by. Or call..... its how I spent my last time with my mother when we were 3000 miles away! (I miss my mother but I know someday I will see her again in heaven.) Enjoy your mother while you can. But know shes contented when Christ is with her.

You can be lifted up with the knowledge that your mother raised you to be strong. She set the example that you now follow. How difficult it is to go through some of life's transitions. You can do it! I hope that your mom makes a good adjustment and that you are able to visit her often in her new home. And yes, the poem is beautiful.
    With love.
