I guess Summer is finally over. The cold weather has finally set in. Ughhhh. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE Fall...just don't like the cold weather that comes with it. My favorite part is when all the leaves begin to change colors. It can be so mesmerizing seeing all the beautiful colors around you as you walk. This is also the time of the year when I like to go hiking in the woods the most.
My biggest obstacle I will now have to deal with are the holiday meals. I love all the holiday goodies. I did well over Easter. I limited the size of my portions. I hope I have that same willpower when Thanksgiving and Christmas roll around. At Easter, I ate much smaller portions than normal for me and then waited 30 minutes to see if I was truly still hungry...or it was just the smell of all the good food that was making my brain THINK it was still hungry. It turned out, I wasn't very hungry. So I am going to do the same thing for these holidays as well.
So far I am down 4 pounds since August. I wish it were more, but I guess pounds lost is better than pounds found, lol. Hopefully everything straightens itself out soon with this surgery. I still continue to have bleeding. Now I am told it is expected after having this surgery done: that it could be a few more weeks before the bleeding stops. Not what I was wanting to hear. I had surgery last week...and still managed to lose 0.4 pounds. I will take it. I earned that loss.
I have decided my Wii and I need to rekindle our relationship, lol. I used to a lot on my Wii and I have hardly used it in months. I bought Wii Fit Plus over a year ago...and I have never used it...until last night that is. I did several yoga and strength training moves onthere. I even made up my own routine to do. And there are a lot more fun games and activities to do on there than on the original Wii Fit. I can hardly wait until the kids go to bed tonight, lol.
I promised myself to lose this weight once and for all. What I have come to learn...is that there is no reason I can't have fun doing this. Too many people get in this rut that exercising and eating healthy is either too much work or is boring. It is only boring and work if that is how you make it. Have fun. If you have a Wii...everything you do on there adds up. Go for a walk and see how many different color leaves you can collect...or better yet...make a scavenger hunt list of items to find along your walk...and don't stop walking until you find them all. My kids actually like doing this too. As for the healthy eating...I started making it a new "game" to try different things once in awhile. If you are always eating salads because you think that is all you can eat to lose weight...you are right...you will get bored with it rather quickly. Try to make meals that have many colors on your plate...taste the rainbow...so to speak!! This is YOUR journey...so OWN IT!!! Make it YOURS!!! Play as if you are a child again. Experience a new world and try new foods.
And to my Golden Phoenix "sisters", burn bright!! Don't let anyone put you down in those ashes you are coming out of ever again!! WE ARE STRONG!!! WE ARE ON THE RISE!!!
I really like your holiday advice - and I so need to start hearing it now so I can get a plan in place - waiting is such a great idea
I've thought about getting the WiiFit Plus, but I didn't know if it was much different then the one I already had - I might just have to treat myself to it - I would love it it had more step routines, that is my favorite part of it, but that might be too much to hope for
Thanks for your shout out - it made me smile and rekindled my fire this afternoon - WE ARE STRONG!
Have a great weekend! 3324 days ago
