My Dearest Brother Joe
Wednesday, September 21, 2011
Dear Brother Joe, today would have been your 58th birthday. You have been gone two years now and I still grieve for you. You and I were the closest in age, so we were the ones who were always in mischief together.
I wish with all my heart I could have helped you quit smoking. When you had quadruple by pass surgery on your birthday at the age of 45, we all begged you to quit smoking because the doctors told us and you that the surgery was needed because of smoking. then 3 years later when you had carotid artery surgery, the doctors told you again, Joe please quit smoking, it's killing you. then two years ago, the bleeding ulcers, caused by smoking, took you away for good. I hate nicotine and I know there is a demon in hell by that name.
I love you Joe. I'll never forget you. I'll forever have you in my heart and soul. You devoted Sister, Mary.
