Happy Canadian Thanksgiving from my House to Yours,
This weekend is our Thanksgiving weekend... Monday October 10th is the official day we celebrate this special holiday here. I will be with family on Sunday , we are gathering at my son's place for Thanksgiving dinner. My son loves cooking and he puts on a beautiful spread. Besides all the great fellowship with family and scrumptious food I love this holiday as it reminds me of all the blessings we have been given from our Heavenly Father.
I think we all can think of many things to give thanks to God for. For a starter I thank God that I live in a free country that allows me to worship God freely and attend the Church of my choice.
I thank God for the home I live in, that he has provided a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in and food in the cupboards and refrigerator. God is my provider, He looks after me in all levels, I am not in want because my Heavenly Father provides for my every need.
I thank God for my family, my son and daughter and the grandchildren they have given me. I thank God for my many friend's and for the great fellowship I have with each one..
Most importantly I thank God for the Gift of His Son Jesus Christ who came and walked this earth amongst us, who experienced every trial and circumstance and who conquered them all on our behalf so we could live a victorious life in Him, most of all I thank Jesus for Salvation, for dying on Calvary's Cross, for nailing my sins to the Cross so I could be forgiven and cleansed from all sin, that He bore the Stripes on His back for my healing. Yes I thank my God for Jesus, my Lord and Savior who died for me that I could have abundant life.
Let's be joyous today, thanking God for His Blessings and Provisions...
Finally let us be mindful for those who are living in poverty, perhaps a single parent struggling to make ends meet, a Senior and or someone who is disabled and not able to work, we also think of those who do not have a roof over their heads who live on our city streets, who have no one to care for them, let's give out of the abundance God has given us and make a donation to our local Mission, Church or Women's Shelter for a Thanksgiving dinner for these folks.
Let's show the Love of Jesus to someone in need today... God's Blessings...
