What a weekend! I completed my very first 5K by walking/jogging on a fairly level course in 4o minutes 6 seconds. That is pretty good for me since I had knee surgery last November and the doctor said no running. I figure if it doesn't hurt I'm OK and be mindful of my body. The morning was a little cool, but warmed up as soon as I began to run. My body is a bit sore today and oddly it is my back that hurts. My hips are a little sore but not bad. The knees are doing very well.
I really felt good afterwards and it was a sense of accomplishment. I exercise for purpose - it is not always fun. I have to enjoy it or it has to have purpose and for now exercise is for purpose.
I looking back the past few months, I have lost 37 pounds, been more active than ever before and I am a happier person.
It has been worth it - every step!!!!
