The 1/2 is less than 1 week away....it's hard to believe!!! I think I am ready - I am not out to break land speed records....just out to finish.....I have my goals set in my head, and will push to meet those - anything else is gravy.
After my painful run on Tuesday - I took quite a few days off, and went out finally today. I decided with the half just a week away - short distances were in order, so I did 3.3......I felt great......I started out at a slow pace, testing the knee seeing how it would react to the run....it felt good, so at about 1 3/4 miles I decided to pump it up....I had been running a 10:20 pace up until that point - I pumped it up, and my pace varied from 9 minutes to 9:30 for the remainder of the run.
I don't know how people stay at a constant pace - I was just running and I was speeding up and slowing down without much thought.....but I felt good.
I'll do 2 more shorter runs this week, and then it will be go time....
Thanks to everyone for making me feel less freakish in my curves....I did end up wearing the Levi 505's last night, with a light pink light weight v-neck sweater, and my new $13 Old Navy ankle boots with 3 1/2" heels and I felt GREAT....I wish I had thought to take a picture.
The jeans stretched a little and after an hour ther were super comfy. Yeah!
The Trivia Night we went to was a fund raiser for one of the town's elementary schools (not my kids). We went with three other couples and had a great time. We came in 5th out of 15, and should have done better...we second guessed ourselves on some, and we should have gone with the gut!
We purchased some raffle tickets when we arrived, and at the end of the night they raffled them off. There was an iPad2, Kindle, Nintendo DS, Tupperware, Cheesecake Factory GC, some local Yoga classes and 3 town GCs for rides to school, one in a police car, 1 in a BIG HUGE Dump Truck, and the other in the Chief of Fire's SUV.
The tickets were $20 for 10, so we bought the 10 and took our chances.....I put 2 tickets each in Cheescake Factory GC, Kindle, Ipad and Ride in Cop Car and Ride in Dump Truck......
There were 100 people at the event, so about 50 couples......so I figure chances weren't too good for the popular stuff....but it helped the school.
Well......Drew is going to be getting a ride to school in a police car in the future (he gets to bring 2 buddiesalso) and I have a Kindle.
I was so psyched!!!!!! I never win a thing!!!!!
I will call the Police Dept. tomorrow to arrange for the ride....I will take lots of pictures on that morning, you can be sure!!!!!
