On March 30th, I had open heart surgery. I had 2 valves replaced, my aortic and mitral valves. I can't believe how much better I feel. I hadn't realized how sick I really was. I just thought it was life - tired and slow is how you're supposed to feel when you are in your 60's. I was really wrong. A heart rate of 183 and shortness of breath got me to the doctor and on to the hospital.
It has taken me some time to realize that God has given me a 2nd chance at life. My goals are to eat healthier and exercise on a regular basis. And most importantly I've realized that this is my new lifestyle for the rest of my life.
