3 day "streak!"

This is at least my 3rd "re-committment" to getting healthy, so I hear ya loud and clear!! It's nice to see some old "friends" still here on Spark!!

My short-ish term goal is to be under 200lbs by my 25th HS reunion next summer. It's in southern California, and many of my classmates still live there, and obviously plenty of surf and sun have been good to them!!

My cousin and I have reconnected in the last year or so, and we are doing this together. She is on Weight Watchers, and I'm trying to get her to join Spark!! She is 37, but has many health issues related to her weight. I thank God I am healthy - relatively speaking!

The easy part for me was getting back into tracking food, and buying some healthy food and snacks. Plus I'm saying NO to Starbucks and my daily Dr. Pepper (a recent habit I picked up)!

The Parks and Rec department also just opened a new center and is offering several indoor exercise classes (it rains a LOT here!). So, I'm going to start going to Zumba (totally fun!) 3x a week, and I am going to try a "boot camp" class. (I have been in the REAL Army, so how bad can it be?! LOL!)

Overall, I set some very realistic weight-loss goals: 5% every two months, which right now is about 5-6 lbs a month. If I lose more, then that will make me that much happier!! But at least I won't be discouraged if the scale moves slo-o-o-owly!
