Nov. 3...pushing strong!
Thursday, November 03, 2011
Well, it's the 3rd day of November. I feel good about it!
Went for a good 5 mile run today. My shin is really bothering me but one of my runner friends is going to let me use his compression sleeve to try to help it out. Hopefully I will see improvment. It's amazing how such a simple thing as a shin splint can really inhibit you. The running isn't so bad, it's the walking and standing after it. I feel strong enough to push through this and finish that half though!
Yesterday, I was so much better about my eating! I feel great about that. Today will be better as well. Bfast is cup FF milk, greek blueberry yogurt, and coffee. Lunch will be a taco salad. Snack will be string cheese. Dinner will be left overs, so probably fish and rice and asparagus. Have to log it to see what the calories are....let you know. But my burn this morning was 575 for my run...I'm beginning to wonder if that is right. Seem like I'm working a lot harder than only a 575 burn...O well, it's still great!
Ok, my positive reflection for the day is that I am so proud of my dedication. Never before had I been this dedicated to running (honestly, I never thought I COULD run like this). I have stuck with it a long time and I keep going. I am motivated to finish this half and I am dedicating the time I need. I really feel like I am on to something and can be proud of what I have done.
Hope you all have a great Thursday! I'm going to ice and rest this shin as much as possible so I CAN keep on going with my running!
