I had my last Diabetes Prevention Program class on Monday. I didn't hit the goal I set for Monday, but I am still losing and better yet...I have maintained my loss for over 6 months!! WooHoo!! That is progress for me!
I got mono vision contacts today. Last week I tried multi-focal and I only wore them one day. I really didn't like them. I couldn't see up close at all. So today they gave me another trial pair. One eye, my dominate eye, is my eye to see far with and the left eye, sees up close. I really like them. Better yet, I can wear them for a week at a time. No more grabbing for glasses in the morning or losing them under the bed!! Snickers often knocks them off the head board or I do in the morning. My head board is a book shelf and very hard to get underneath!! I think I will like these contacts!!
I ate at a chinese restaurant yesterday with a friend. We had the all you can eat buffet. I know I went over my calories and fat, but I watched really close the rest of the day. This morning I weighed the same as yesterday! And I didn't exercise yesterday. I know...nothing to brag about, but I was making a point about not gaining any weight!!

And as usual, I did have a high intake of good old water throughout the day!
I did some Wii Bowling today. I am now a Pro on my Wii Bowling!! I even got 4 strikes in a row. I was waiting for that to happen....because I didn't know what that was called. It is called a Fourth. Too simple if you ask me!!

No bowling icon...had to put something!!
I haven't been blogging everyday. I just had to step back. I have still been coming on Spark People everyday, just didn't have a lot to say. October is a hard month for me. Maybe I will do better in November!!
So, I got a new cookbook from my DPP class. It has some good low-fat, low-calorie recipes in it. I didn't find anything I wanted to make right away, but when I went grocery shopping last week...I got some ingredients for some recipes in my Spark People Cookbook. I think this weekend I will try something from there.

I got some romaine lettuce,

,

,

and some low-fat ranch dressing at the store. I have been making some killer salads for snacks, lunches and dinners. I want to make some homemade soup to have handy, too. The kind you can get in the store has so much sodium!! Even the low sodium soups. I am thinking of a "throw what you have in the refridge" soup. You know...you look in your refridge and see what is left over and throw it in the pot. Sometimes they can be really good. It is also a good way to get rid of left overs.
The snow we got the other day is almost all gone...except in spots that don't get much sun. My friends and family in Wisconsin haven't even gotten snow yet. It is November, so we were due to get some. It has been pretty nice the last 2 days...with lots of sunshine.
We have 2 Peer to Peer classes left. It is going really well. I myself have been struggling a bit with some of my symptoms. I am working on it and I feel like I can get through it, without too much of a relapse.
I hope you had a great day!! Remember...it is what you make it!
