Even a Sick Day Can Have a Bit of Pleasant Exercise

Monday, November 14, 2011

I'm under the weather this weekend--had chills at bedtime and throughout the day the last couple of days. Minor sore throat. Decided today there'd be no running, just eating well, and taking care of essential tasks. (I scheduled today's day off months ago, perfect sick day! I was off anyway!)

One thing, though: NO movement just felt cruddy. I wanted to read my new book, "Wheat Belly", and also take a nice little walk. It's windy as heck outside, so that's a no go.

I set my treadmill for 20 minutes, 3 mph, and read my book. I was disappointed when the 20 minutes was up and the treadmill stopped! Off to pick up my child from school having done myself a bit of good. Reading and running--my favorite things--together!

I continue to experience such deep gratitude that I'm fortunate enough to have a treadmill!

Interesting, You have given me a good idea, sadly something i never thought of b4
i work out even when I am sick but that is only because of a something seemingly like a compulsion to not miss a day of working out emoticon . Even on my sick days I HATE emoticon to work out, i still give it my all but begrudgingly. It never occored to me to just do something like walk lightly, because is not part of my workout plan
