Tried Acupuncture Today

Thursday, December 01, 2011

When I woke up this morning, my right hip and leg were feeling a lot better. Just having my "usual" pain on the left side from the sciatica. If I have to have one or the the other, the left side pain is the lesser of two evils. I'm still going to take it easy the next couple of days and try to stay off my feet when I can.

I did some of my Peggy Cappy yoga dvd for my workout today. I thought I'd better play it safe though and do just the upper body stuff; usually that part is done in a chair, but I sat on my stability ball to do it today.

I've had a mild sinus headache all day, and a queasy tummy part of the day too. Went to my radiation treatment as usual. After that, I had the acupuncture. I had 5 needles in each ear. They did not hurt hardly at all going in, it was more of a ticklish sensation than a painful one, and once they were in, I couldn't really feel them. There were 3 of us getting it done today, including my mom. Our needles were left in for half an hour. It was very relaxing. My sinuses started to drain after about 20 minutes, which was a good thing, with my headache. I was told some of the good effects won't be felt til later, but I'd probably sleep a lot better tonight. I still felt kind of queasy when I left, but I just now noticed that the queasiness is gone, could be that's from the acupuncture too. I would definitely do this again! And I probably will.

glad you're feeling better after the acupuncture. Even if it just relaxed your muscles enough to let go of the pain, that's great! I may need to give it a try some day.

I had anumb left leg from A back surgery in 2004. I had MRI's and the surgeon wanted to do EXPLORATORY sugery.
After a lot of thinking about it I told my Dr I was not going to do that I would just stay where I am. She suggested Acupuncture. I went to the Acupuncturist. The bottom line is I left the treatment room and my leg was moving better than ever.
I could never put on my shoes without holding the leg since I had NO CONTROL over it. MY DH had to help with my boots and shoes. FROM THAT DAY FORTH, I can do it every time. That was last winter and I am so much better prepared to face the ice and snow thanks to my Acupuncturist.
I hope your results are as beneficial as mine have been Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good for you doing your exercises on your stability ball!! I might give that a try on mine, if you hear a big loud thud......that's me falling off!! :)
