A&I Challenge-December Goals

Monday, December 05, 2011

First and most important, is to get back on track. November really threw me off with working too much, Thanksgiving, etc. Even with staying in calorie range and getting some exercise in, I managed to gain 8 pounds! Really makes me mad at myself. I know that just watching calories is not enough, but that's what I did, and look where I put myself! Oh well, new month, new start! So that is my main goal.

Do some Christmas decorating at some point before Christmas. Sounds silly, but with just me, I really have not worried about it the last couple of years. I do miss it, so this year it is a goal to actually do it.

Get my sewing room done!! Just have not been able to finish this one! And I want it! Not that I will have time to use it, but I want it.

Get my mom scheduled for her knee replacement, and all the fun planning that will go along with that.

Plan short trip to Kentucky to see my son and his fiance. If I don't make a plan, I will never get around to going.

Get after my trainee for the cleaning jobs!!! He always has something else to do rather than get trained on my accounts. I have got to get serious about getting him in there, so when I actually want to take off, he will be trained!! I already know that he will want to wait until after Christmas. I just know it. January will be soon enough to train, but goal is to get him committed to a date in January.

Continue with the project of cleaning and organizing my life/house. This one will not be done in a month or three, but goal is just to stick with it.

Kathy, I like how you made your goals very specific to what is going on with your life right now. I know that you can stay focused and get these things done, including dropping some of those pounds! emoticon

Good luck with your goals, especially the decorating and the sewing room! I'd like to have a sewing room, but I fear I would use it less than I imagine. So for the time being, I'll use my dining room table :)

I, too, don't do much real decorating, and I wonder why. This year I will do a bit more, but DH better be helping!

It will be really nice to get your sewing room clean and organized! I really want to get my craft area done too. It will be so nice just to be able to go in and see it done!! :)

Great goals, Kathy! I think that getting back on track is always hard at first, but once you get your momentum back you will rock it!

Great goals! I'm always tempted not to decorate for the holidays, but then when I do it I really enjoy seeing the lights and the little things that remind me of times gone by. Yes, get that trainee lined up so you can get your time off! January will come before you know it!

    Kathy, I love your goals!
I, too, am struggling to get back on track! I have put on 12 lbs. since the end of July, and am afraid I'll continue to put more on unless I get myself under control! We can cheer each other on!

ps. I should be grateful that my gain is only 12 lbs. I can easily put on 5 in one day!

Great goals Kathy! I like your goal to decorate this year. I have been tempted not to but since our little Pollywog is 16 this year and we aren't sure how much time we have left with her, I will probably decorate but wait until closer to Christmas. I also like your goal to go see your son. Good luck on all of your goals this month! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Kathy, I don't think that decorating for Christmas being silly. This is the first year in a couple of years that Ray and I have put up a tree. You have set some ascertainable goals. I think you will get them all.

Your first and foremost goal of getting back on track is so wise. That's why we are doing this, right??? Glad you are focused on making progress and realistic about the time it takes to accomplish the things you want to do. I hope things come together easily for you and your trainee. That should relieve some pressure for the rest of your goals.

Bless you. Let us know how you're doing, okay?

I wish your mom good luck with her knee replacement. My MIL had hers done about four weeks ago and ended up staying in the hospital where they did the surgery for 3 days, then transferred her to another one for 7 days. She had other health problems, and is extremely overweight, so it wasn't easy for her. I hope it goes better for your mom.
Doesn't it seem as if there's always cleaning and organizing to do. Once one area gets done, there's another one. Then if you're like me, it ends up having to be redone again.
Best of luck getting back into a fitness program and with your other goals.
