Inspirational Christmas Song

Saturday, December 17, 2011

I've always loved the old TV cartoon "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town", and as I was watching it this year one of the songs took on a whole new meaning for me...

"Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking out the door.

You never will get where you're going
If you never get up on your feet
Come on, there's a good tail wind blowing
A fast walking (wo)man is hard to beat

If you want to change your direction
If your time of life is at hand
Well don't be the rule be the exception
A good way to start is to stand

If I want to change the reflection
I see in the mirror each morn
You mean that it's my election
To vote for a change to be reborn

Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking out the door."

The song really resonated with me, because its so true!! To begin my journey to a better, healthy life I need to get up and put one foot in front of the other and get moving. Who knew a Christmas song could be so inspirational? I'm making it my new mantra emoticon

emoticon emoticon emoticon for taking the time to share the song with us. I last saw Santa Claus is Comin' to Town many, many years ago. Funny how the words speak to me more now than when I was younger..... emoticon

I remember that song! Did Jimmy Durante sing it? That's the voice I seem to hear in my head. Those are great lyrics--maybe my team, the Babysteps Brigade, should make it our theme song! emoticon
Thanks for reminding me about this, and for typing out all the words: a gift of love and support for the holidays!
