I refuse to weigh in

Monday, March 12, 2007

I took a diet vacation last week. It was TERRIBLE. Tuesday, my DH took the day off and we went to the beach. We ate at Ruby's on the pier and they offered some GREAT diet chocies....ask me if I chose one. Nope. I got a BLT. Not to bad, right? But the fries were. Then the worst thing happened. I ordered a milkshake. A peanut butter cup milkshake to boot. Holy crap.

Wednesday I woke up with a new resolve. "I am going to stick to the program!" I told myself, unconvinced. Ugh. I did good on Wednesday. Then Thursday I ate some not so good things and then on Friday, I ate like I had no idea what the SparkDiet was! What on earth is wrong with me?? My downhill slide continued on through Sunday. I am embarassed to even THINK about the amount of calories I consumed. It was sick, sick, sick. I am sure I could have easily gained a lb or two...or three or five...in the past week. So I refused to weigh in on Friday.

One bright spot was my friends who just got back from a 3.5 week trip to South East Asia...they told me I was skinny. I guess to them, I am since last time they saw me I was about 8 lbs heavier. I did not feel skinny, however, as I stood there thanking them for their sweet compliment while gulping down my Starbucks Chai Tea Frappacino with whip and extra caramel. (mmm, BTW)

Sigh. The clock is ticking to the big reunion...you would think that would be enough for me to stop stuffing my face!!!

One day or one week does not a disaster make. Each day is a new beginning..just pick yourself up and dust yourself off. This happens to everyone and will happen less often as your new lifestyle becomes a habit. You can do this! Celebrate the 8 pound loss...it is a great accomplishment. Only the "big guy" is perfect :) Denise

Shake it off and get right back on again. I wouldn't weigh either because if you did gain any at all you will be mad all over again. Waiting another week would be a good idea.

You'll do it, just remember how awful it felt and how it really isn't worth the extra food. We all have those days (or weeks!) I have faith in you, you can tell you want it too badly to give up totally !
