A new year. A new day. A new beginning.

I discovered SparkPeople at the end of November 2011, and while I'm still learning all that it has to offer, it has already been such a godsend in my life. It's helping me to rethink the way I've been living and helping me to make better choices for myself and my life. The people have been nothing but kind and welcoming. I've always been somewhat of a loner, so it's a challenge for me to open up to others, but I'm determined to get better at that too.

My goals for 2012 are:
--lose at least 50 pounds
--complete 1000 fitness minutes each month
--track ALL my foods each day
--write in my blog at least once each week
--make at least 2 new SparkFriends each week
--be kind to myself when the inevitable setbacks occur

2011 was filled with such heartbreaks and disappointments, but I know I need to put that behind me and move through 2012 with hope and a renewed determination that this year will be my best year yet!!!

    when I first joined SP I thought it's easy, I can lose 1 lb a week (52 in a year), so I got discouraged when I hit a plateau and the scale wouldn't budge for a month, then it did move, and then another plateau, that happened over and over but I did finally reach my goal wt, it just took longer than I thought it would. We all hit plateaus, so don't get discouraged when you do, just extend your goal timeline
