Running to or Running from

Training for an April half marathon started Sunday…yes, Sunday, a holiday, and the first day of 2012. I’ve never started off a year running or exercising for that matter but why not? The schedule said to jog, so jog I did. Outside, in the trails at Mitch park, mid-afternoon on a cool day, and I really didn’t have a bad time. It wasn’t the longest 35 minutes of my life, nor the worst.
Monday was also a training day and another holiday from work. Instead of lying around or getting distracted, we trained again…40 minutes.
It’s a long way from the 13.1 miles in April. But I’ll get there. We’ll get there. And the more people I tell, the more likely I will stay on track. Stay focused, stay motivated and keep running.
Give me all your advice…all your tips and warnings…and I’ll try to report at least once a week on my progress. Or better yet, start training too, then come to OKC and run with me in April!
