January 5th...still going strong!

Thursday, January 05, 2012

It is January 5th and I am still committed to my goals!!

I am not doing very well with my food tracking, but I am exercising regularly. I actually rode 12 miles in 33 minutes the other day on the recumbent bike. WooHoo!! That is a personal best for me!! I am a bit sore from that, but it was worth it. I had so much energy that day!! And despite not getting a full 8 hours of sleep the night before, I was able to keep going all day long. The high from the exercise on the bike is something I have not experienced before.

I am bipolar...so I know what manic feels like. This was not like that! This felt so good!! Not like I had to talk all the time or run in different directions. It felt fabulous!!

If I was inclined to run, I would definitely try it. I am going to try to include at least 2 bike rides a week. I will stay at the current time and try to increase my mileage. I will also get in the pool a couple times a week for water aerobics.

That means I will work out 4 days a week. I think it is totally doable for me to exercise 4 days a week. I just need to continue to get to the gym. I do like that it is closer to home. It does make it easier to get there.

Have a great day!!

Hi, Angie, great to see you keeping to your goals. You have made a doable list, and putting it on the fridge is a great idea. Might do that myself!! As for falling asleep in the recliner, I sleep in my armchair every night, as I have arthritis in my right hip and my back, and can only manage about 15 - 20 minutes in the bed, then I have to get up, the pain is so bad. But I am very comfy in my armchair, lots of cushions etc, it's a bother to have to put the bedding away if we have guests, but that's not very often, so I don't mind. I do mind about not sleeping with my DB, dearly beloved, though, so have to take extra steps to remain connected.....he doesn't like sleeping alone, either. emoticon
    Still, we manage....

I actually managed to stay awake for the fireworks this year, watched the ones they do for the children down in Sydney Harbour, at 9pm, (so the parents then can take them home in time to see the main ones at midnight) plus we watched from our bedroom window the local Council fireworks, went for 20 mins at 9pm, excellent show. The fireworks down in the Sydney CBD, and Harbour cost around $6 million this year, wow, I would have liked a bit of that!! But they were terrific, all done by computer. I think they feel that, being one of the first country's to see the New Year in, they have to make an effort, for the Tourist angle, I think....
Still, enjoyed it, we ate our dinner at what was left of the Xmas table, then I cleared it all away in time for New Year, tried to get everything ship shape, (it's a Feng Shui thing)....and we enjoyed the show.

I hope you didn't mind missing it too much, I've been known to fall asleep until about 5 mins before midnight!!

You must have needed that sleep. I only manage around 4 -5 hours at a time, can't remember the last time I had 8 hours!! (I do have a Nanna Nap during the day, though, or in the early evening)..

Well done so far, keep it up, you can do it.....well done for getting to the gym....

Congratulations! That's so great to hear. You mentioned tracking and if that's bothering you, just try tracking one item per day to add to the success you already have :)
    WOO HOO!!! Great job. emoticon

Wow Angie, your up earlier than me this morning! Sounds wonderful, I know what you mean about being manic. I have a tendency to be that way, but regular exercise (as long as your don't overdo it) is different.
Four days a week sounds perfect!
