Only one Pound or Less

Saturday, January 14, 2012

I went to Weight Watchers this week & only lost .4 lbs. How many of us got on the scale & felt disappointed in only losing one pound? Or less than a Pound? I'm guilty of saying this all the time. I have gotten down to 463 lbs. from 490 lbs. I want to get into the 300's, then 200's quickly. I have to change this attitude & be happy with whatever the weight loss was that week. It was a LOSS not a GAIN!!! It's getting me to my GOAL.

Only One Pound

Hello, do you know me?
If you don't, you should. I'm a pound of fat,
And I'm the HAPPIEST pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.
Want to know why?
It's because no one ever wants to lose me;
I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!
Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only one.
So I just stick around and happily keep you fat.
Then I add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice it.
That is, until I've grown to ten, twenty, thirty or even more pounds in weight.
Yes, it's fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT, left to do as I please.
So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying, "Oh, I only lost one pound."
For you see, if you do this, you'll encourage others to keep me around because they'll think I'm not worth losing.
And, I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you.
Happy Days!!!
After all, I'm ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!

Humor is one of the best ways to make a point! It has a way of provoking thought, often out of the box. emoticon
In terms of reality, every bit lost is a success. Living a healthier lifestyle, even though not shown by a number on the scale is beneficial to your well-being. emoticon

Great blog, Katie. Great way to look at a pound, but hey, a loss to me is a loss. I'm thankful for any little portion of a pound I lose. At least then I know I'm going in the right direction. Keep up the good work and together we will succeed.
    Have a great week!

Love it! After staying the same for the past four days (I know, it's only four days!), I was feeling pretty irritated this morning. I'm exercising; eating right; drinking my water; getting almost enough sleep - so what's the big deal? Right? Well, your blog has put that into perspective. So thanks!!!!

Yes...I tend to be this way, too, and think of less than a pound as not being worthy of losing. But I try to tell myself I wouldn't want a 1/4 pound of butter hanging off the end of my nose or ears!! Fat is fat, and when even small portions are gone they eventually add up--that's my story and I'm sticking to it!! LOL!! Good work on your part, Katie!! Hugs, Jeannie
