Tracy Anderson Method?? Please Answer My Questions.

I saw the "Tracy Anderson Method" infomercial last night. Honestly, it looks ridiculous. But then again, I have an aversion to anything endorsed by Gwyneth Paltrow, so maybe I'm biased by that... Plus, I'm always interested in trying something new, fitness-wise, so I try to stay open-minded even though on the face of it, this program appears to go against most of what I believe to be true about fitness. (Looks like lots of cardio, very light weights, and frankly, just too easy...but I know looks can sometimes be deceiving.)

So has anyone else here tried this program? What are your results?

What does she advocate in the "diet" portion of the program? How long are the workouts, and how many times per week?

Would this kind of program be kind of a joke (as in, too easy) for someone who is a serious fitness geek (i.e., a P90X-grad such as myself)?

Any other thoughts, praise, or criticism to share?

(If you're doing this program and like it, please don't be insulted by my blog and/or questions. I'm just going by what I saw on the infomercial, and I know you can't really understand something without trying it. That's why I'm asking questions, I am always open to having my first impression challenged.)

    I'm also a P90X graduate and I have purchase other beachbody products. Now I'm a coach due to me falling in love of their products. All their fitness programs work. I have a collection now. It is about consistency and eating healthy. I'm sure if I were to follow the diet I would look better. I think that you can always modify and add weights to any program to make it challenging. For example P90X "Ab ripper" I use leg weights because the workouts are to easy for me now. It is good to mix and try others to keep you going and not get bored or fall on the plateau mode. I need to check out Tracy Anderson, now I'm curious but I believe that not all programs are not suited for everyone. I recommend fitness programs depending on ppl goals.

    Hi.. i just wanted to share my story about Tracy Anderson method..
    I started doing her method 2 years ago as a preparation to my wedding..
    i have been an athlete whole my life, training karate since I was 6 and I used to have this bulky muscles and didn't have a body to show off :)
    anyway I started doing Tracy's method... that is cardio portion (which is really fun dancing) and mat portion.. exercises for abs, arms and legs.. I have seen changes in my body in 2 weeks, and after that I became addicted.. :))

    my body has changed so much, my butt is lifted, my arms are not bulky any more.. and i finally have abs..
    KEY is consistency :))

    one thing is for sure - it's not easy.. I havent tried p90.. but I can tell you this is hard work... it may seem easy.. but it's not.. if you dont believe, go on youtube - and you'll find some free videos.. try some of the exercises.. she does about 40-60 repetition for each butt lift, and she uses 3 pounds weights.. but believe me. it hurts :))

    she recommends doing her method 6 days a week for one hour (1/2 hour for cardio and 1/2 hour for mat work).. Of course, if you want you can do 45 mins of mat work and 45-60 min of cardio.

    I usually do from 4 to 6 days a week for an hour and really important, I dont follow her meal plan. But i try to eat healthy, a lot of fruit and vegetables.. fish, chicken.. drinking a lots of water..

    Tracy Anderson Method works :) you can go on facebook, check her page and there are a lot of pictures of fans who really changed their bodies.. I'm definitely one of them.. I don't follow the diet, and I don't buy her shakes.. but I do her exercises and she has really changed my life..

    What I've learned about most infomercials is that they're all about money, and Gwyneth is probably getting paid a LOT for her endorsement. Plus, she has always appeared to be a naturally thin woman, so lifting a feather would probably keep her toned and thin.LOL
    I tried going on to an infomercial website yesterday for something else, and they wouldn't even give the price of the product unless you first PUT IT IN YOUR CART. I JUST DELETED AND ESCAPED the whole site.
    Hope it works out well for you whatever you decide. Just remember, if it looks fluffy, and feels fluffy, it's probably a cotton ball! emoticon emoticon

    I seen the same infomerical. Found it interesting but I think that we can get the same effects by doing pilates and yoga. I too don't like the idea of taking any vitamins, shakes, etc. Who knows what is in them.

    Anything that would have me buy their shake (food, meals, etc) as an essential part of their program is out for me. If I can not buy it at the farmer's market or the produce section of the super market, I steer clear.

    Its a diet.

    Might give you some more answers. I just read your blog and wanted to look into it a little more as well... I did not find the site very useful to me but it might have some of the answers you are looking for!
