Walking the Walk (Literally)

Hi Fellow Sparklers!

I haven't blogged lately because there really hasn't been much new to say. I'm doing my thing. I'm just chugging along, the little engine that could! This is DAY 40 for me getting back on track, can I get a woo hoo? emoticon

I'm down 10 pounds. I haven't had a sip of wine (my nemesis and the beginning of all binges) I'm in the 10,000 step challenge and have averaged 10,000 steps per day since January 1. Last Sunday we walked 8 miles with ease.

I'm doing strength/weight training two or three times a week, depending on the class schedule at the fitness center. I work out SOOO much harder when I'm in a class than what I would do on my own!

Next week is a big week: I get re-assessed at the fitness center on Monday, so I'll be reporting my inches lost and "official" weight loss.

I have a physical on Tuesday, the first in several years. While my weight is not as low as it was the last time I had a physical, I am headed in the right direction and I know my skinny, exercise-freak doctor will be very pleased.

I got word that a Spark friend's husband died unexpectedly of a stroke last week. Even though I've never met her or her husband, I am so saddened I can't even express it.

Life is short and unpredictable. We need to appreciate and savor every moment. We need to remember not always to focus on the destination, but to enjoy the journey.
