Saturday Morning Change-Up

Every Saturday for the last three years my hubbie and I have gone to a little breakfast place we love called Hobee's and catch up on the week. Last year my DH retired and became very involved in a Saturday morning "Vintage" Softball League (you have to be 55 to play) and our tradition has morphed to satisfy his softball schedule. Sometimes it's more like lunch at our favorite breakfast place because he has an early game first or it's a time constrained breakfast because he has a late game to get to. I felt a little put upon because he has added this fun activity to his Saturdays and I'd been left out in the cold.
Enter SparkPeople and my new commitment to get healthy, get fit and get skinny. So sometime around this past July, I've started to either walk the 3 miles to our little Breakfast place at a nice easy pace and meet my DH at Hobee's or walk the 3 miles back to our house after breakfast while he goes off in the car to play.
This morning I decided to make this addition to my fitness plan really help me. So I left later and only allowed myself 50 minutes to get to our Hobee's rendezvous and was able to achieve my first 15 3/4 minute miles. Next week I plan to only allow 45 minutes for the 3 mile trek and see if I can make it on time. Wish me luck!
