If it's a light meal, it really doesn't matter to me whether I eat before or after exercising, exercise is best whenever I can fit it in. On the rare occasions when I have had a heavy meal (like after Christmas or Thanksgiving) a nice easy walk after the meal is wonderful -- But I sure couldn't do Zumba or any really hard workout, I think I would puke! 3278 days ago

I always eat a light breakfast first then ease into exercising. Afterward I eat a piece of fruit. Seems to work great. Everyone is different and it depends on your system. Just try it and see how you feel. There is no right or wrong way. You can't mess it up and no rules. Good luck! Your body will love you for it either way. 3278 days ago

Water seems to be the theme here, and it is with me too. I chug down two 8 oz. glasses of water, eat a light breakfast then do my treadmill (or whatever is on tap for the morning). I HAVE exercised before eating, but have found out that I cannot work to my potential, so for me, I wait til after eating breakfast.
I don't really get hungry after exercising, either, but I am thirsty. So, that's my take on it. Water, eat, exercise, drink some more water.

It really depends on you. I usually have a light meal within an hour of starting exercise. After exercise I am not hungry so I can easily wait to eat at my regular next meal. I also usually drink a glass or two of water before I exercise. When I go to the gym for a 2 hour workout, I will drink 6 glasses or more at the gym. My water bottle holds 3 glasses and I drain it twice, and frequently need more. I guess what I am saying is that the water is more important than the food, but for me I will not exercise before I have breakfast. 3278 days ago

I usually wait an hour or so after a meal than exercise. After exercising I grab a yogurt or 1/2 turkey sandwich and lots of water. Seems to work for me. 3278 days ago
