Better Late than Never

Sunday, January 29, 2012

Holy cow, I can't believe it's been over four years since I posted a blog. So much has happened in that time. I suppose the biggest reason I haven't posted is because of work. I was promoted to Director of Golf for the resort where I work, and it keeps me pretty darn busy. I just don't feel like doing much by the time I get home in the evening.

I've never been a person who gets stressed about much. Stress doesn't accomplish anything (other than death). With that stress came some unhealthy habits and a little extra weight. I've put on about 20 pounds over the last few years and need to get back to "fighting weight". I'm still nowhere near the weight I was in 2004, but I'm nowhere near as healthy as I was four years ago.

I don't believe in "New Year's Resolutions", but I do believe in making changes in my life. Denise and I joined a gym and we're exercising more. I also bought a blood pressure machine so I can track some healthy goals other than weight loss. I'm hoping that 2012 will re-energize my healthy lifestyle goals!

Hope you are doing well on your quest.....you might try to stick in some rowing a couple of times a week....awesome workout that uses LOTS of muscles..
I have been aiming for the 10,000 steps per day (I started at less than 1,000 per day last june) and now that I am fairly regularly hitting the goal (not perfect yet LOL) I am adding in some variation...stairs, rowing and eliptical. (Weights also 2x per week) I have noticed a change in body (not weight loss per se) since I have added the rowing...I need to buy new jeans mine are getting REALLY loose LOL. Great fun too!!
