thwarted by a 3yr old

First of all, I wanna say Happy birthday to my Ella! After becoming my only baby to go past her due date & even refusing to drop once labor started, my body evicted her & I got to hold her gooey little body in my arms at 7:28am (right before the Dr's shift change, no less), 2/8/10. While I was pregnant w/ her, my hair went wavy & she has adorable, loose baby waves to prove it. She made our family complete & blesses & challenges us everyday.
Anyway, hoping to make this a quick blog so I can minimize the destruction from my 3 & 2 yr olds. They are wild & crazy this morning!
My hubby got us a Y membership & I'm way excited for all the group fitness classes. I've been to a couple cycling classes already. I just had to face it since Ella stopped taking naps, my workouts have been nonexistent. Having childcare for an hr or two is such a blessing! Lol, I remember when my oldest was just a baby, wondering how parents claimed they had no time to workout b/c it was never a problem for me to find time. Fast forward 8 yrs, add 3 more kids & their school & homework & even minus the job & I struggle to find the time to workout.
I had a great workout Monday, cycling in the morning & lifting w/ my hubby that night. Tues my hubby & I jogged a mile around the indoor track & did some easy sprint intervals for the 2nd mile followed by weights. After Ella decided to have an early bday celebration at 2am, I was already thinking of excuses to put off the 9:15 cycling class. But I finally psyched myself up for class, mostly b/c it seemed easier to go to class than take a shower while the wild ones are running around, haha. That & it was only 2 days of working out in a row...I could handle day #3.
The older 2 kids leave for the bus at 8:40 & w/ getting the younger 2 ready & driving to the Y & getting them all situated in the kids' area, it's a pretty tight process to get there by 9:15. So, the older 2 were at the bus, I was dressed, Ella was dressed...& Nolan was refusing to get dressed. This kid would run around naked all day if he could.
In all the flurry of trying to get everything ready, I realized we had to leave & he was still in his pull up! The little stinker effectively kept me from class! Lesson learned: get the mini nudist ready first. Unfortunately there's no evening cycling class tonight, but maybe I'll work up some motivation to design a quick cardio workout. BTW, one of my fave aspects of group classes is that I can turn off my brain & get a great workout. ;)
The day is still young, time to seize it!
