Sand Castles

Wednesday, February 08, 2012

Are you still building castles in the sand? Am I? While we are building up our fancy, cute, perfectionism little castles of life, God is waiting for us to see the individual grains of sand we are building it with. He is waiting for us to realize how fragile and futile our efforts are. He is patiently watching while we build and build and struggle and build, all the while He knows it is going to fall with the first wave or wind. When we wake up and see the waste of our work and effort and realize we have been building with little grains that will not stand the test of time and storm then -- only then will He sweep in with all that He is and all that He has and show us all that He can do. He will whisper in your ear and in mine...., "Trust Me."

When we trust Him, putting our efforts behind us and letting Him build with things that last, we shall finally be FREE of the bondage of all the things that keep us captive. We will be free to receive all that He has for us. We will see that all the things of our calendar, our schedule, our life, our efforts, what we allow others to influence us with, and expect of us, all the things that are temporary and do not last ..... even the things we bind up ourselves with (past, hurts, limits, desires, wishes, disappointment, worries, etc) None of it matters!!! When we trust Him, we will be free to see the great big picture of where we are going and the plans He has for our lives. We shall be liberated at last, to trust Him to chose for us~our food, our lifestyle, our activities, our friends and career. God will be the pilot, and we can enjoy the ride without all the worry, spinning and fretting.

Stop building castles in the sand. Be done with sand (pride, expectations, plans, desires, stubbornness, idols, and self) and let God build things that matter. He put the planet in motion! He can certainly handle the little things in your tiny life and in mine!
