Slow, slow, slow! Turtle slow!

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

I am by nature an impatient person. Once I make up my mind to do something, I am IN IT 100%.

I am working so hard at my weight loss and it is super-slow! I am frustrated!! I may go see a nutritionist. I know I don't need a trainer, those Spandex Nazis at the fitness center are kicking my @ss.

Today I have three goals: do a 3-4 mile "fast walk" to train for the half marathon; finish my taxes; and figure out my calorie deficits for the last few weeks to see if I really should be losing weight more quickly. If so there is something else wrong. I have been faithful about wearing my GoWearFit armband so the data is all on the website.

In the meantime, I'm frustrated but no where NEAR ready to give in! I'm thinking I may just need a new approach.

Here's a link to On2Victory's blog about what he had to give up on his weight loss journey, and it's spurring me on today to keep on the righteous path!

It isn't fair when you work so hard, but you aren't giving into the alternative -- that's HUGE. I know you've been great about focusing on what is long-term sustainable for you, so this WILL happen, hang in there!!

It's okay to be frustrated and it's great you are going to revisit what you have been doing to make sure something is not sabotaging your efforts. However remember how long it took you to get where you're at - that didn't happen in a months time.

Keep working - from here it looks like you are doing it right - just in a slow patch right now and you can't go over it - you can't go under it - you can't go around it - looks like you have to go through it!! (that's from a book I've been reading my GS called - we're going on a bear hunt). I almost have that book memorized!

Seriously - keep your focus and don't you dare give in to the DARKSIDE!!

Oh - and I think you're right - a blog about not blogging would still be considered a blog. Pretty "heavy" thinking!! LOL

Hang in there...I agree with BIGLITTLEWOMAN, get a pair of tight pants & judge from them.

Have you noticed a change in your cardio level..ex) What once felt hard is now easy or easier?? Are you able to lift heavier weights or do you walk faster/longer then when you started out?

You have a full day ahead of you. One consolation for losing slowly?? It is said the slower we lose it, the more likely it will stay lost.

You need a pair of tight pants that you can't quite wear yet to use as a non-scale tool to measure those physical changes that are probably taking place. Same weight, different composition maybe. Your profile (or back view) may look pretty darned good and you just don't see it!! emoticon

I loved that blog. It was a nice spin.
I truly understand about the frustration. It's like saying "are we there yet?"
What are your goals? Is it just to lose weight, or is it a lifestyle thing. You are doing so many wonderful things. Sometimes it takes a bit for our body to adjust.
    Hang in there hon.
