Okay, more about your supportive friends...... I am not really into this. I guess basically I don't like people in my business.... lol. However, I did actually gain support by neing suppportive of someone else today, so maybe that's the route I'll take.
As far as the book-- they wanted me to seek someone out in my life and ask them to compliment me. Really? That's stupid. sorry book. not doing that.
However, I did appreciate the idea that we need to make sure those who are complimenting us are getting the correct signals from us that we appreicate their kind words and sentiment. It's easy to poo poo people's compliments of us, and focus on the things we dislike about ourselves, or worse, not believe the compliment that was given and indirectly tell the complimentee that they're wrong....
So to recap.... I will NEVER force someone to compliment me, and will rarely make my weight loss or other self-help projects public. It's just not how I operate happily. But I can be suportive of others who i know have expressed trouble, and in doing so receive support from them.
