Finishing Up February

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

I'm glad you enjoyed the "Monday Motivation" I posted yesterday from Judith Beck. It was a good one, wasn't it??

Well, I stumbled a bit over the weekend but I have every plan to finish February STRONG.

I have met my goal weight for February (165) but getting a pound ahead during this last week of February would be a good thing. I thought losing 5 pounds per month would be a cakewalk. NOT SO MUCH. It's taking everything I've got!

But here I am, Day 65 for me, slightly over 9 weeks, down 15 pounds. emoticon

In March I plan to do some things differently. While I do keep a diet notebook where I record what I eat, I want to get back to the Spark tracker. I count calories in my notebook but not fat, fiber, or protein. I am not taking advantage of all the resources Spark has to offer. I want to record my food and exercise so I can print out the calendar at the end of the month.

I also plan to try several new Spark recipes a week. This is not always met with enthusiasm in my house, especially recipes with lentils and kale! But I will keep trying! Don't you love the blogs where people take pictures of their meals? I'd like to be one of those people but I don't really see it happening. Sorry.

The exercise is going fine. We walk 6 days a week in preparation for the Indy Mini in May, and I'm averaging over 10,000 steps per day. TC and I do the strength training class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on Saturdays when it's offered. This Saturday is bike class, but that doesn't work for us: TC has a bad knee and I cheat! emoticon Seriously! When she says to "crank the tension up a full turn because we're climbing a hill" I crank it up 1/4 of a turn and imagine coasting DOWN the hill!

My goal for the next week is just to stay the course and keep doing what I'm doing! We've got 8 days left in February so join me in finishing strong!!

15 pounds is GREAT! What a performance you have going this year!!

You must be feeling really good about yourself and you should be MAJOR MAJOR credit to you!!

Keep up the good work and here's to losing AT LEAST 1 more pound in Feb.

I also like your confession about cheating in the gym!! Since that is your only "flaw" emoticon emoticon then I'll let you have it!

    Keep up the great effort!!

The thing that made me smile is when you admitted that you cheat on the bike. You cheat??? Oh my! I guess I could say you are only cheating yourself, by not putting in the effort while you are there. But You are there.. doing something and that counts too.
    WTG on the 15!

My latest post it note says, "Never wish for things without creating a plan." You just posted a great plan that will take you towards your goal. Maintaining your exercise regime is creating weekly habits which will keep you feeling powerful and strong. The Spark tracker is new and improved since we used to use it. It is much more efficient. I bet you will like it.

Great goals for March!! I need to lose 5 pounds by March....do you think I can do it? We will be cruising and I haven't been eating as well as I should.

I love the SP nutrition tracker because I can track lots of things. I especially watch my cholesterol, sodium, protein, and folate numbers (I have 8-10 things that I watch every day. Sometimes I plan my daily meals around my daily requirements.
