Back home but a slight glitch!

Monday, February 27, 2012

Well, it was a fantastic cruise! I walked (around the buffet), and swam and had a great time. To make sure I didn't gain too much weight, I got sick for 12 hours and had little desire for food for the following 4 days. Even with that it was a great trip and vacation! The Caribbean is just like the pictures. The water is very salty though! We had the best time!

While I was sick, I got dehydrated and passed out. Had I been sitting, or in bed, it would not have been that bad, but I was standing up! This caused my head to hit a corner (lightly) and as I slid down the wall, I hurt my neck. I really don't remember the event. I heard a loud noise, opened my eyes and found myself on the floor. My wife looked really upset and she said I was unresponsive for a few scarey seconds. Today I went to the doctor and it is just a sprain, so it could take a few more days or several weeks to heal. He gave me some muscle relaxers and suggested a heating pad. He also said NO RUNNING! But I need to run! NO RUNNING! He told me to listen to my neck or it will yell louder and louder! Well put!

I should be able to start some running by the weekend and get back to my training.

It is good to be back and I am all recharged and ready to go, just as soon as my neck says I can!

Glad to hear of your injury but listen to the doctor and you will be back on the run faster than you can say ready, set, GO!

Sorry to hear of your mishap. I agree, though, Caribbean cruising is a grand experience!

OUCH! Scary. It is good you are listening to your doctor and your neck. The rest will do you good and when you re-start your training, you will be starting with fresh legs (and batteries) and a neck that won't yell at you the whole time. Glad you enjoyed your emoticon despite the "rough sailing". Take care!
