1st Workout and New SparkTeam

Wednesday, May 02, 2012

I've confessed about my difficulty blogging before, but I'm trying not to stress over it and just write. Here goes...

So I actually got up and worked out before work this morning. Excuse me for a moment while I give myself a pat on the back. emoticon (... ok, I'm back). I've been wanting to start working out for a while, but between work, family, house stuff, side business, etc, it's really hard to find time. But I don't want to make excuses. Anyway, my son woke me up at 4:00 this morning because he wanted some water. I didn't feel sleepy so I just stayed up and got a workout in ... the 15 minute cardio routine on Coach Nicole's Firm Fit and Fired up. emoticon I was expecting to feel tired during the day today, but I haven't. I guess because I went to bed at a reasonable time last light. This was the first time I've worked out since coming back to spark a couple of months ago. emoticon I'm hoping to continue the trend.

I also joined a SparkTeam created by one of my SparkFriends. It's called the "100 Days of Summer 2012 Challenge". emoticon Here's a link if anyone is interested: http://www.sparkpeople.com/mys
?gid=56484 ) I've actually been doing a really bad job participating in Teams and the Message Boards recently, so I'm hoping to take this as an opportunity to change that.

Ok, I've officially run out of stuff to say on this blog, so I guess I'll keep it short and sweet. Remember, "progress, not perfection"

This is a great blog, JP! Don't sell yourself short.
Getting in exercise - at any time of the day - is a good thing. It's a better thing, if you can do it regularly - at the same time of the day. But something is better than nothing.
My routine is highly non-routine. I do what I can, when I can.
Good luck with Boss's challenge. I think it's great and I'll be cheering on all of you! Summer in the city isn't my best time - so I don't think I'll sign on.....but I'll be with all of you in spirit!

Also, just read your CPAP blog. Great information! Thanks for sharing all of that -- I'm sure you enlightened many people.

Keep on keepin' on......and keep blogging!

Hooray for exercise!! I'm always amazed when I'm having a rough day and decide to work out anyway just how drastically my energy will improve from that one little workout. Keep it up! We'll rock out this summer together.

As your wife said " emoticon " and I agree with her. These early morning workouts aren't always easy to get started (think having to actually get out of a cozy bed that early and the house isn't even burning down around you) but they are so worth it. I find I have more pep for the day ahead. Will you be seeing more early rises? emoticon
