Weekends and weight gain

I celebrated a bit too much this weekend and the scale showed it today. I am up 2 pounds from eating too much and not exercising this weekend. I am not happy about it at all. I think part of the reason I ate so much was stress. My mom has to have a biopsy on something she has had for 6 months and I am scared. I also have to prepare for an all day appt. with lots of tests and a neurology consult at UCLA.

Anyone have any advice or ideas???

    Good luck. Just hang in there and try not to stress. There is nothing you can do about it, so just go with it.

    Definitely scary. Remember that you need to take care of yourself in order to be strong for her.

    Two days eating too much and not exercising isn't the end of the world. Just turn it around right away. Eat toward the low end of your calorie range the rest of the week and get in your regular workouts, maybe adding 5-10 minutes where possible.

    Try to plan ahead with food and snacks that are manageable while handling the appointment, as well as with ideas of ways to destress without turning to food. For example, see if there's a place to go for a quick 10 minute walk during waits. Even standing up and marching in place in a waiting room as long as you're not in the way could give you an outlet for any nervous energy.

    It's hard, but whether you worry every single minute or worry not at all, things will unfold at their own pace to the result they will bring. If you have a religious faith, remember to lean on prayer or ritual.
