I pray all of you had a wonderful Mother's Day, as I did. My son gave me this beautiful poem, and it brought tears to my eyes. I hope all of you enjoy it as much as I did.
MY MOTHER KEPT A GARDEN,
A GARDEN OF THE HEART,
SHE PLANTED ALL THE GOOD THINGS
THAT GAVE MY LIFE ITS START.
SHE TURNED ME TO THE SUNSHINE
AND ENCOURAGED ME TO DREAM,
FOSTERING AND NURTURING
THE SEEDS OF SELF-ESTEEM...
HER CONSTANT GOOD EXAMPLE
ALWAYS TAUGHT ME RIGHT FROM WRONG -
MARKERS FOR MY PATHWAY
THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME LONG.
I AM MY MOTHER'S GARDEN.
I AM HER LEGACY -
AND I HOPE TODAY SHE FEELS THE LOVE
REFLECTED BACK FROM ME!!!
Isn't this the most beautiful poem you have ever read? It made me feel really special because this boy, my son, became our foster son at the age of thirteen. He is now twenty-five years old. He was a student in my eighth grade English class, and he had such a bad home life that my husband and I took him in and became his foster parents. I feel we must have done something right. He really makes us feel proud in the same way that our daughter, Juliette Nicole, makes us feel proud. Have a great week spark friends, and may God bless each and every one of you.
