I use my vision board.. I put my fruit stickers on it every day to frame it and when it's full, I need to make a new one. Mine has people doing yoga and running and statements of "I lost 32 lbs" and I lost over 70 lbs" and Healthy fit ladies, not super skinny ladies. Oh, and also lots of pictures of fresh fruits and veggies.
Can you show me a model of your Action Board? Ie. if you haven't done one yet, please do one and show us. :) I'm not 100% sure clear what you're talking about. I mean.. I think my goal hearts posters of the goals are my action boards.. but maybe not.
I was thinking of making an action type/goal vision board of the horseback riding, hang-gliding, and hot air ballooning which are my future goal reward actions.
Now, as for Anti-vision board? I don't think so. I think it's very bad to focus on the negative stuff. Law of Attraction, the Secret, and all that.. no thanks! :) I want to think and see and vision HEALTH not unhealth.
My "vision board" was a lot more attainable, maybe because I was already feeling old and desparate, lol. I wanted to walk the Rideau trail. I wanted to go on a canoe trip. I wanted to stop gaining weight. I wanted to feel good and not have my diabetes get worse. So all those things are DONE.
The action board though is a perfect suggestion for right now. It is in the form of a calendar (which I found decluttering and is the perfect size and set up). My goal is consistency. The basics: water, exercise, veggies. I don't want to eat at night any more so I need other things to occupy my time. I don't need a reminder to know that my ultimate goal is to reach onederland. That I want to stop the accumulating symptoms that seem to be attributed to menapause. If I hear that that is the reason for one more thing wrong with me I will scream! (AKA a sign of menopause). I love my vision board...It changes as I change. It is on the wall next to my vanity. Sometimes I just add a sticker to it that says awesome. I add to it and subtract things from it. I have a picture of plants. I don't have models on it because I am not them, I am me. I have pictures of me that are positive. Pictures of my children, my dog... I have pictures of things that I would like to buy...a dress, quotes and prayers...all positive things. I did the anti thing once and put it on my fridge, but it was embarrassing to look at and made me feel sad...I like to think and feel positive no matter what my age or weight. I just want to be the best me possible...I had thought of doing a board with all those magnets I throw out that are flat advertizements, calendars and such...add a picture to the front and I can put them on my board or on the fridge and remove them when someone comes over. I hate when someone comes over and they want to read my board...it feels like they are reading my journal. 2923 days ago
First off, Its really nice to see you! I mean without your glasses! I am all about the anti-vision board! I think that is a great idea. I did create a digital vision board on Pinterest. I searched for models and actresses that were my same height (5'2") and posted photos of them. I have some pretty decent role models: Alyssa Milano, Salma Hayek, Eva Longoria. I don't ever expect I will look like them, but I prefer to have short women on my board than amazons. Anti-vision suits me just fine though. I will start with photos of me at my heaviest! I like your anti-vision board. I never understood why some women have models on their frig. Their body type is probable not close to your bone structure. It does make more sense to show what you don't want to be but could be if you don't take action like having a picture of a woman 50 pounds heavier than you with same body type.
Something you said in there really struck me (completely separate from the action board or the anti-vision board). A vision board can be changeable. I never really put much into mine, never made it into a real physical board. I just have an image file on my computer that I've never really looked back at.
Instead, if I tried to watch every day for things that I'd like to have, things I'd like to do, images or phrases that represent who I am and want to be, I could be creating an ever-evolving vision.

Interesting take on vision boards...and of course they don't work if all one does is dream. I don't necessarily agree about the anti-vision board, because what one focuses on tends to enlarge in life.
I made a vision board several years before I joined SparkPeople, and you're right...it fades into the background. I didn't actually finish mine, in that there was room left on the poster board and I simply stopped adding pictures. Reviewing it just now, I find that the things that have become most important to me have been or are in the process of being fulfilled, and those that external forces told me were important--have not. So, while I appreciate your challenge, I don't feel the need to participate in this one.
What I'm going to do is continue to attempt to hoop on my 'bad' side through the song I chose last week, and video it when I can. 2924 days ago
