A "Normal" Day

Monday, June 04, 2012

I've been sitting here tonight trying desperately to think of something cute or inspirational to blog about. Fact is, I had a very normal average day. Got up went to work and resisted the urge to kill co-workers emoticon. Took a 20 minute walk at lunch. Came home and did a quick power walk with the Tazzy. Came home did about 30 minutes of ST. Showered, had company for about 2 hours. Just had a snack of humus and trisket thins. Now I'm about ready for bed.

Looking at this - it is funny that this is now a perfectly "normal" day. Before starting this change, my arse was glued to the couch. I would eat an entire large pizza and fall asleep sitting up. I would have had fried cheese sticks for lunch and complained about the 1 block walk to get them.

Now normal is a mile + at work. Home to a little over 2 miles with the dog. I walk or bike to do just about everything. I don't want to take the car unless I have to. I have raw carrots with bocca for dinner. I am active with the TV basically as background noise.

My dogs are healthier, my son walks 35 minutes a day now, and my hubby is biking! Who would have thought?!?

Thanks Spark and my Spark friends for helping me make these changes.

Kitty

Sounds like a GREAT new normal! Hubby and I are still working on establishing our new normal, but some of ours include biking to work now and smoothies for breakfast! Great job!

Have I told you lately how awesome you are?! Because you are. You have really changed your life and been a loving mother and wife by being a role model for them on healthy living.

Now that's inspirational without ever trying! Good job getting the family involved. It's crazy how they take to what you are doing and hard to think how easy it is for them to follow with you now. The hardest thing for me is I am the throw down susie baker, huge meal cooker in the family and now im not. I quit baking and cooked the old stuff. I have started making small meals with fresh produce, nuts! It's a good feeling and I am proud you had that moment in time where you are like, holy crap, where did this healthy thing come from. Its natural now.. imagine that!

Glad I'm not the only one with the challenge of not killing co-workers. :-)

It's great that your life has changed to a new normal and that you're rubbing off on your son and your hubby, too! Way to go!

I just wish I could have as good of luck with my cats as you have with your dogs.

PS- If you do end up killing your coworkers I hear there is a nice weight room in the joint. emoticon

Mary Chapin Carpenter has a song about hearing the "Beautiful Racket" of daily life. Sounds like you're hearing it. :)

    Have a good one!

BTW, your comment, "Got up went to work and resisted the urge to kill co-workers" cracked me up.

Hope you slept well and have a good day.
