Stupid, but It Worked!

Well if you saw my status this morning you will have an idea that I have a crazy day at work today. My job has been expanding it the amount of work, and I was already over-scheduled. We don't have "job descriptions" and anyone with a brain gets loaded. Unfortunately I have a brain. Add over work to co worker that are negative and nasty. Ending with an over 2 hour ride home (the person I carpool with loves having a captive audience to complain to). So, safe to say I had a bad day. I was so stressed at one point I was shaking and felt like I was going to cry.

I got home and was just completely stressed and aggravated. I harnessed up the dog and we went running. Not walking, running. I ran until my legs hurt, my side was throbbing, and I had sweat in my eyes. We ended up doing over 3 miles. I'm in pain but I feel better emotionally. I know it wasn't the smartest thing in the world but I just needed to purge.

Then I actually came home and did my strength training. I realize this is better than eating an entire large pizza. I'm pretty certain I am going to be sore as hell tomorrow.

    Yikes! I have found that it is very difficult to be a positive person around negative people! Sorry you had such a bad day! Hope today is much better! Even if your muscles are killing you today it will just be a reminder that you purged in a healthy way instead of having a tummy ache and a load of guilt after a large pizza! Hey, the weekend is just around the corner!

    Sorry to hear about all the job stress. Why is it that competent people are over-worked and the incompetent always get to skate through life? Sigh. Glad you worked off the stress instead of eating it. emoticon

    Wow! this goes back to your realization the other day that you have a healthy life style now... fantastic job because the pizza sure sounds better lol. I am really proud of you for focusing on health when you were mazed out! That take a big person with goals, I love it!

    By the way, I try to get up in the night to stretch after a really tough workout so that in the morning it's not as painful. I drink 2-3 glasses of water right before bed so I'll wake up to pee and then stretch a little and go back to sleep. I have achillies tendonitus so i have to do it pretty often, but it seriously helps!

    Sorry that it's been such a crap fest at work. Channeling all of that negative energy into an intense workout instead of ordering that large pizza is something to be VERY proud of. I hope you're not too sore tomorrow.

    Geez you're amazing! I'm sorry that you had such an awful day, but wow am I proud of you for how you handled it. You got the stress OUT! emoticon Let the soreness tomorrow remind you that you are learning healthier coping skills. I mean, really - you turned a negative into a positive and that is just fantastic!

    I hope that tomorrow is a much better day. A million-billion times better!
