It's Official!

My daughter is 18 DAYS pregnant. Yes, DAYS! When I commented that she's had her pregnancy confirmed twice before most women even have an idea they may be pregnant, she said, "Welcome to science!"

On another note for her, she just got back from taking her beloved dog to the vet -- he has a torn ACL and it will cost $2,000 for the operation! GULP!

I'm glad I'm old!!! Now, what do I want to be called? Grandma's out -- but how about Nana? Mimi? Memaw? HMMM, this will take some thought!!!!

I'm a little late to the Woo Hoo party. Congratulations!!! I wish your daughter a very healthy, full term pregnancy. I know you will be a wonderful grandma............the name will come.

My mother decided she'd be "Grama" - note HER spelling of it. You could be "Babushka" (Russian), or "Bubbe" (Yiddish); how about Mémé (French) or Oma (German)? I think you'll find exactly the right one that works for you and for your family. Let us know what to call you, Bubbeleh!

Have fun! This will be an exciting part of the journey!

What wonderful news for you and your family!
I can see you taking your grandchild out for walks already.

Grandma was my selection... but that may change once my granddaughter starts talking.

Hey a big congratulations to you Grandma!! And why is grandma out? Nothing wrong with that name in my mind. PM is reveling in being called grandma Skype.

However you pick what you want. Nana is a good one if you don't want grandma or maybe an Indian name from a tribe in your area that means "wise one".

I read your blog on the ankle. I guess screws sticking out would be a problem so glad you are getting it fixed before your China trip.

As far as the weight. Maybe just review what has been going on starting on the latter part of your trip and then re- read some of the Beck book or your cards to get your focus back.

    Take care Nana! or whatever.

That's probably too early to even feel nauseous. What an exciting time for your family. Whatever nickname you decide on, when it comes out of the mouth of a babe it all has the same sweet heart strings that will tie you up forever. It all sounds glorious coming from them. emoticon
    I couldn't resist the twins.

Well I'm Grandma as my grandson already had a Nan. They all use my first name to distinguish me from others. These days with extended families there can be lots of Grans
Congratulations and hope you enjoy being a Gran as much as I do

Congratulations! Grandchildren are the reward for surviving raising your children--and allowing them to survive, too.

So happy for you and your family; being a grandmother is the BEST!

Congrats - isn't science awesome??? What fabulous news!!! Is this your first grandchild???

I like all the "grandma" names you mentioned. I have a friend that her grandchildren call her "Grandmommy" & I really like that! It's sort of like being the queen momma! LOL!
