From Trainer to Socialite!

Monday, June 11, 2012

It was really nice out at lunch today. Unfortunately, that didn't last. By the time I got home, it was humid enough to cut a cup of water out of thin air. I wanted to get my walk in ASAP.

So harnessed up the trainer and off we went. Normally she will bark at bikes but that's about it. Tonight was a completely different story. She had to stop and play with every dog. Give pet me eyes to every person who walked past us until she got attention. We spend almost as much time socializing as we did walking.

So I came home to do strength training. Gypsy was in my face the entire time. She normally just wants the couch.

Now, I understand most of this behavior is because there is a thunderstorm on the way. But I need to get work done here. I'm gonna pull out the mini-stepper tonight. I wish I had a treadmill but I have to work with what I've got.

I doubt the hubby will want to bike tonight, but I'm going to try if it gets dark before the storm.

I reckon trainers need social time too! I love those pet me eyes! Jack has them too, but hard to see past his mean bark sometimes! I get licked on the face when I try to do floor exercises and if a storm is coming I have a 70 pound mutt glued to my side! Just enjoy all the time you spend with that special trainer! She'll have you whipped back into shape in no time once you heal! She just needed a day to focus on her and not you!

I have a Chihuahua that usually barks at everything but has been really friendly with everyone lately. He has even attached himself to this little girl with cancer at the park. He just loves her! Sometimes we just gotta play!

Social time is almost as important as exercise time :) It's great that you can do both at the same time!

I miss having a dog. I'm jealous. Although, the two of you didn't get in a long walk it's nice to get out and meet and greet other furry friends..

My little personal trainer wanted a 3rd walk this afternoon but she never got it. But she did get her 2nd one in. I couldn't do the 2nd one this morning due to the weather but at least it cleared up to do it.

emoticon emoticon Punim does the same to me too. I was trying to do some stretches today, and when I got to the "sun salutation" he decided I was ready to play.

You're lucky you didn't have the humidity all day as we did here in the city. It is starting to get cooler now, but it isn't one bit less humid. Let's hope the rains subside in time for us to both ride bikes tomorrow!

Lol! I can't do any floor type stuff without cat or dog props either. They make doing yoga very interesting and a little dangerous. (Mostly for them not me!)

My cats always want in on the action when I get down on the floor to do crunches. I think they're trying to be helpful and encouraging, but they're not!

I guess even personal trainers need their 'me time', too. I'm glad you both enjoyed the walk, now if the pups could calm down and see it's time for the ST!
