What is the secret to losing weight? I AM

It took me awhile to figure this one out.

I went on my first diet at the age of 14. I decided to skip breakfast. Not sure why I started dieting so young, except that puberty came at a very young age and so did the unnecessary munching and overeating after school. College is when I moved into BMI's overweight range. Soon after came the addiction to food and obesity.

I'm a tiny little person and barely 5'1". And before you laugh at my short stature, just remember that good things come in small packages :-) Anyways, being short and probably hitting the 200 pound mark was a huge concern and worried I wasn't able to change this.. I knew if I continued down this path it would be no time before little ol' me entered 300 pounds.

I have tried everything in the past. The weight went up and down. What worked today didn't work tommorow. What worked for someone else didn't work for me. I've read books on weight loss, emotional eating and food addiction; joined weight watchers and overeaters anonymous. Taken hydroxicut pills, tried slim fast... and this thing called a 'dont eat after 4pm' diet.

My point is that I was trying to find the secret to losing weight. I looked outside of myself for the answer. And there is nothing wrong with that. Doing this alone is probably not a good idea. But 20 years of fluctuating weight I figured it out.

I am the secret to losing weight. Nothing or no one will bring me to good health. I am the one pushing the food in my mouth. I made all the choices and decisions in life. The secret to losing weight... was me.
