Just Hanging Out

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

I'm still taking it easy; New Paradigm's cautionary words about doing too much too soon rang true so I'm still just laying around, mostly reading. I see the doctor on Friday and will get the stitches out the following Friday.

I made a batch of laundry soap yesterday, thanks to the recipe from Biglittlewoman. I actually can't wait to do a load of laundry today! emoticon

Our 90-year-old neighbor with the tremendous garden visited yesterday and brought yellow squash and cucumbers and corn. Today I'll be doing something with that.

A representative from the insurance company is supposed to call me today, and he better because I want justice! The guy who hit me had insurance through a big company that advertising they're "on your side" so we'll see.

I tend to eat when I'm bored so yesterday wasn't a very good day for me! I'll try to be better today; having the veggies to fix will help. TC's been spending the days outside working in the yard -- I don't know how he can stand it. It's in the mid-90's already and summer hasn't even started yet!

Vandal, you asked how I find the blogs of people who've lost 100 pounds or more -- Up at the top of your sparkpage click on "Community" and then "Success Stories". Trust me, you won't have to look long or hard! You can also look under "Blogs" and find the most popular blog postings, and they are usually really good too.

Good for you. It is hard to make ourselves just relax and rest. But, you are making a good choice for your body. I've had many experiences with the rebound of getting going too fast. Not pretty. You'll be active soon enough.
    God Bless,

Careful with the insurer person . . . if any doubt at all about whether you're getting "enough" you may wish a consult with a lawyer. The insurance folks are all about getting people signed off and sometimes before the full extent of the injuries is known . . .

All best with your veggies, and with your recovery!

So glad you're letting your body do right healing -- short-term concession for long-term gains. Even on your 'down' days you're getting lots done with new soap and fresh veggies prep. Hang in there, you'll be smiling in the rearview at this little waystop soon!

I love the chattiness of your blog today, like talking with you in your living room. Last year I got hooked on marinated cucumbers, I never knew they were so good AND so simple. Mr. Insurance man best not be just another smooth talker.....hopefully the other drive got a ticket for an unsecured tow.

Nice to hear you are taking it easy. You can spend a lot of time on Spark and perhaps find some new great recipes to share w/us. I'm tickled you made your first batch of soap, did you make powder or liquid/gel? I am at the bottom of my first batch. I could boot myself for not writing down the date I made it as now I don't know how long it lasted but it has been months. I need to decide whether to make the same thing or try the powder version.

Just let yourself heal, try not to do to much. Especially if you are expecting an insurance adjuster! Trust me, when I stepped and fell damaged both legs, I know what it is like to be bored and eat. Snack on Megs Cucumber Horseradish Mustard Snacks and Popcorn. Get well.

Enjoy your day! Let TC handle all of the heat outside.

Personally, I have a hard time laying low.....I can only read so much and then I'm off to the frig. We have Father's Day leftovers so I had a terrible day.....had ribs, dips, etc. Shame on me. Today I'm overbooked so I'll stay out of the kitchen.
