Day 2 - No Excuses

Sunday, June 24, 2012

I loved that Travelismygame started a "no excuses" count down (count up?) to keep herself on track. She stated her goals and told herself NO EXCUSES to keep moving forward.

Well, today's MY Day 2! Last week I shamelessly used my ankle surgery and car accident to permit myself to go off track (and off track included ICE CREAM and PIZZA; I admit it, I'm weak when I'm bored) and of course I wasn't exercising.

But now I'm happy to be back on track, Jack! I'm going to absolutely be in the 140's by the end of the 5% summer challenge.

Yesterday I went to the fitness center and did 3 miles on the treadmill including the intervals for the 5K Your Way Rookie Running program and did 75 minutes of Zumba. So: I got credit for doing the intervals for the 5K Challenge; recorded 120 minutes of exercise for the Summer 5% challenge team; AND recorded over 16,000 steps for my 10K Steps a Day team!

See how I got this all working together? I get a LOT of mileage out of my exercise minutes! (Get it? Mileage? LOLOLOL)

I've got plans to hit fitness center classes 4 days this week and continue the intervals for the 5K Your Way team. I'm really pumped at the idea of jogging a full 5K; not really sure I can do it but I'm really ready to ramp up my exercise to the next level.

Have a wonderful day, Spark friends, and here's the thought of the day:

Way to go! Really - stick with the 5k program - it WORKS. I'm not kidding when I say my wife could run 90 second intervals 10 weeks ago and yesterday she ran 5 miles straight (no joke!).

    Good job!
