YES! Cutback weeks are for recovery and sometimes, your body is "catching" up... even with needing the extra fuel-lol. I have also found that fueling while running can make a huge difference!

I've found that every 4 miles is the "sweet spot" for me to refuel. If I try to space out my Gu any further than that I get into trouble and hit the proverbial wall...Everyone is different though! Way to go on the training run!

I agree with Catherine, I'm pretty sure you're still recovering from that 15 mile run. Have fun with laundry and Walmart ;-)

"Legs still recovering from Sunday's 15.25 mile run, the 5k Wednesday and the tempo-ish run on Friday" -- absolutely. "Lead legs" are almost always a sign that the legs are carrying residual fatigue (i.e. not recovered). That's why it's important to do the cut back weeks -- and keep it slow if you see signs that your legs aren't recovered. If you want to do "tempo-ish" runs, they are better saved for the cut back weeks, rather than pile it on right after the really long run.
Recovery, recovery, recovery, baby!
