Non-Scale Victories. I haven’t had a lot lately. But I keep on keepin on. I love this photo and kudo’s. I don’t know where it came from, it has been all over the internet, but it is one of my favorites.
As most of you know (whoever reads this, although I am sure I am just writing for my own benefit but I’m okay with that it keeps me focused), I have been in a slump for quite some time, here and there with a ton of inconsistency. I am working on dealing with my emotions about the past and have also been doing well in moving on with my life and focusing on me.
The last month or so I have been doing well. Especially the eating part. Yes, I have had grad parties, BBQ’s, a camping and “up north” cabin trip, bonfires with beer, etc. Afterall, it is summer in Minnesota. In the past couple weeks, my working out and eating has been spot-on. I can feel my biceps. BIG NSV. I still have bat wings that are driving me crazy, but I know with perserverance, they will go away. I started a new arm routine last week and I am feeling the effects already.
Also a couple weeks ago I tried a pair of my daughter’s capris on, Junior size 11-13, they FIT! However, I am not sure about the style of the “new” jeans L I am 45 years old, and really don’t need my jeans hanging off my a**. LOL. I still have LOTS of muffin top, so really didn’t like the fit. But I got them on. I’m sure it is equivalent to Misses/Women’s size 12? I was in a 12 at the end of 2010 and weighed 153. 12’s were very tight for me at that point. I have gained a couple pounds since then. Now they fit nicely. Go figure. I think it is because I have been focusing a lot on strength training and have gained muscle. I need to go home tonight and take a photo of “before” which I did quite a while back but then fell into a slump. Better late than never, will use my daughter’s bikini. Yikes! No one will see them until the AFTER photos, LOL.
I got another big NSV last week when my ex-husband visited from Florida to see my daughter. He hadn’t seen me in 5 years and I have lost over ¼ of my body weight since then. Him and his parents couldn’t believe the sight of me. I was ecstatic, secretly of course. TAKE THAT! HA! Just kidding, I take it with a grain of salt, as he is remarried and we each have our own new lives. Seems we were married in another life it has been so long now. We are cordial to each other because of our child, but that’s it. He has gained a ton of weight and has all sorts of medical issues. But he is trying, and has lost about 30 pounds so far. I was giving him a lecture for sure!
So anyway, just wanted to write here that I feel more motivated than I have in a very, very long time. I have even logged my food for the last couple days! Water intake has been outstanding, eating great and working out 5-6 days a week, including strength training. I really hope this motivation keeps up for me! I am going to work on a motivational board as well to keep me on track to achieve my goals!
Oh! And I almost forgot! A co-worker friend of mine who has twin daughters the same age as my daughter (they actually go to school together) signed up for a membership at the gym and I have been dragging her to the gym and getting her to classes! It is so much easier when you have a workout buddy!
My goals this week, from Friday to Friday are (I realize I am a little late):
Complete motivational poster board
Drink LOADS of waterNo sweets
Get to the gym or workout at home at least 5 out of 7 days
Log my fitness and food 4 out of 7 days
Hopefully this will lead to 2 pound loss!
